MOTH parade commemorates Anglo-Zulu War battles

Moths from KZN and the Free State attended the annual commemoration and parade.

Since 1979, the centenary of the Anglo Zulu War, Moths from the district and beyond have gathered at Rorke’s Drift on the nearest Sunday to the anniversary of the battle (January 22, 1879) to pay respects to the British and Zulu soldiers who died there.

Today, the parade was again hosted by Freedom Shellhole from Vryheid and attracted Moth members from the Northern KwaZulu-Natal area, the Free State and Durban.

Wreaths were laid and the bagpipes were played by Dougie MacMaster.
