Estcourt fire station yard remains overcrowded from 2019

The fire station mystery continues into 2020

A new year means a fresh start and a clean slate.  However, it appears that 2020 is bringing no hope nor any answers for the overcrowded fire station yard at the corner of Subway and Elizabeth roads.

Fire station remains scrap yard

Some non-operational vehicles are parked there, along with yellow plant equipment.  Many of the vehicles within the vicinity are not used for firefighting.

But could these vehicles be owned by the municipality?  This month marks exactly a year since this concern was raised by a resident, which the Estcourt News relayed to Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.

No answers have been forthcoming since the beginning of 2019.  Emails and messages are acknowledged, but that is the sum total of the communication in this matter.

The concern has once again been forwarded to the municipal communications department for comment, but none had been received at the time of going to print.  Until a response is received, this remains a mystery.
