The final matric results for Ferrum High School (2019) were welcomed with great anticipation.
Learners stood in line at the beginning of the week, awaiting their final reports. After some anxious moments, it was proven they had achieved their goals in the National Senior Certificate exams.
”We were pleased with the results, as we took the incentive to work with certain learners who possibly were at risk with their grades. We did this by starting a winter school programme, where teachers focused on the gateway subjects (Mathematics, Science, Accountancy and Biology) ensuring the learners were fully equipped and ready for their examinations,” said Charmaine Myburgh, Headmistress of Ferrum High School.
A total of 182 Ferrum High School learners sat the final exams and achieved a pass rate of 94,6%. 91% of the school’s learners can further their studies at a tertiary institution, with 63,9% achieving a Bachelors pass, 27% a Diploma pass and 8,72% a Senior Certificate pass.
