63 newly appointed constables reported for duty on December 17, 2019.
The police officials completed their basic police development training programme.

These prospective constables were selected from more than 500 000 applicants in the provincial recruitment efforts.
They will be posted at various police stations and units within the Uthukela Cluster.
They were welcomed by the Acting Uthukela Cluster Commander Brigadier Bantham who gave them valuable advice and encouraged them to serve with integrity.
