The Umzinyathi SAPS Cluster featured well in the Provincial SAPS Awards, announced shortly before Christmas.
Umzinyathi Cluster Commander, Brigadier BJ Buthelezi, came away with the Best Cluster Commander Award while Lieutenant Colonel CW Minnaar of Kranskop accepted the Best Station Award.
Lt Col TA Shabalala of Nquthu received the award for the Best Rural Area Station, while Lt Col NT Mncwango of Greytown was announced the Best Detective Services Commander.
Constable Scelo Ndlovu of Dundee SAPS was the runner-up in the Best Sportsman of the Year category, thanks to his exploits on the golf course.
