Shortly after 4am today (January 6), paramedics were dispatched to the N3 near the Bergville Toll Plaza after reports of a crash.

When they arrived on scene, initial investigations established that a taxi had veered off the road, causing it to rollover onto the opposite side of the highway.
“Several passengers had been ejected from the vehicle and were no found lying in the fast lane. Medics assessed the patients and found that four people had sustained critical injuries while eleven others had sustained minor to serious injuries,” said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.
The injured were treated on scene before being transported to hospital.
