A minivan taxi and car burst into flames after a serious collision.

At approximately 5pm this evening a minibus taxi and car collided on the Vryheid/Dundee road near Blood Rivier. Both vehicles caught alight on impact. Allegedly six people sustained fatal injuries and nine were treated on the scene before they were transported to local hospitals. The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage, and is being investigated. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes since the road will be closed until further notice.
