Protect your skin with these awesome ideas

Sunburn can cause major damage to your body, but this does not mean you have to shop for expensive chemicals.

Usually, the weather tends to produce some of its hottest days as the year kick-starts. What we always forget before visiting outdoor facilities however, is to protect our skin from the sun.

Sunburn can cause major damage to the body, but this does not mean you have to shop for expensive chemicals to protect your skin. The Record has come up with methods which can help with skin protection, without spending a lot of money.

Homemade products
If you can’t afford a sunscreen product, some products in your house can come to your rescue. These include aloe vera, lemon essential oil and coconut oil. These products have been proven to contain health benefits for the skin if applied correctly.

Wear protective clothing
If the idea of using homemade remedies is a risk, you still have the option of choosing sun protective clothing from your wardrobe: long-sleeved T-shirts, longer shorts, caps and summer hats.

Eat food with sun-protective properties
Some products are not just healthy for your body but your skin as well. Many vegetables and fruits such as oranges and apples provide water for your system, the same water which is utilised by your body to clear your skin.
