December 12 marked the final monthly blood donor clinic for this year. Blood donors walked in at the Estcourt Town ready to roll up their sleeves despite the chilly weather and scarified their time even staying longer to complete donations.

Grace Ramsamooj donated her 21st lifesaving pint of blood.

The target was set at 51 and with no surprise locals beat it. 80 people attended, 69 pints of blood were collected for this worthy cause and two new blood donors were welcomed.

Phila Mtshali supported the last monthly Blood Donor Clinic of the year.

“We thank the lovely family from the Estcourt News for bringing about awareness and emphasis on the importance of blood donation,” said Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain thankfully.

He also thanks the three local high school staff and learner donors for their support throughout the year.

Noluthando Dube has her blood pressure examined ahead of her 9th blood donation.

“On behalf of the SANBS team we wish you a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. May God bless you all with lots of love, from the SANBS, Blood Clinic Co-ordinator Mr SM Dawoonarain and Sewlal family,” he added.

The next monthly blood donor clinic will be held at the Estcourt Town Hall on January 9, 2020.
