Rena Licen (Estcourt Hospice Association chief executive officer)
As the Estcourt Hospice Association, we celebrated our annual Tree of Lights to light up a life on December 6. It was a special evening, with so many people joining us.

This year, we had a new twist with the Hospice songsters’ performance, led by Pam Venter on keyboard. We were honoured to have long-serving member and former chairperson Sheila Kent (25 years’ service on the Hospice board) switching on the Tree of Lights.
Candles were lit to the final Carol sung, which was ‘Silent Night’. Quinten Swanepoel gave us an inspiring message, and Louis Peviosan led the order of the service.
Good fellowship was enjoyed thereafter, with some snacks and refreshments. Estcourt Hospice board members, staff and volunteers from our Estcourt Hospice Charity Shop would like to wish everyone a joyous holiday season and good health in the year to come.
A heartfelt thank you for your help and support throughout the year; it is truly appreciated.
