Two shot as festive season crime ‘spikes’

A cash-in-transit heist and a shooting are believed to be indicators of a crime spike.

Two people have been shot at the taxi rank,  and a cash-in-transit van robbed in two separate incidents just minutes ago.

The cash-in-transit vehicle was allegedly targeted by a group of armed men, on the road between Pomeroy and Ladysmith. Emergency services are currently on scene but it’s understood no one has been injured. It is unclear how much money was taken, if any.

In a separate incident, two people were shot at the Dundee Taxi Rank. It is unclear what sparked the shooting.

These are developing stories and will be updated as more information becomes available.
