Spokesperson for the ambulance service Craig Botha explains: “The family had stopped to refresh and stretch their legs. The mother had given the baby medication, after which the baby started choking.”

The fast-acting paramedics swiftly delivered the necessary first aid and the baby brought up the medication, this according to Mr Botha, was followed by a ‘big breath and a cry.’

“Paramedics monitored the baby for a while afterwards to ensure everything was stable, and let the baby continue with the family on holiday, with the assurance they will stop at a doctor for a full check up,” he added.
