Hard work pays off at Estcourt Christian Academy

Proud parents, staff and learners assembled on November 16 to celebrate the graduation and prize-giving of Estcourt Christian Academy (ECA) Preschool.

The programme opened with each learner receiving a book as a special memento of their past year at the school. Excitement was in the air as every learner also received a certificate describing their individual Godly character traits.

Traits such as creativity, enthusiasm, kindness, caring and diligence were just a few of the wonderful characteristics already evident, and recognised, in the young lives of the children.

The Grade Rs, looking very smart and grown-up in their gowns and mortar boards, proudly and confidently went up on stage to collect their graduation certificates.

A special book memento was given to the learners.

A bit of the history of Midlands Christian Centre (MCC) was shared by Pastor Jon Kühn. The preschool, under the name of Kingdom Builders, was opened in 1989.

Mention was also made of other ministries of MCC, such as Fountain of Life Preschool (which opened in 1993), Dayspring Crèche (which opened in 2002), as well as Greystone Campsite (which opened in 1994).

Learners receive their prizes.

In 1998, Estcourt Christian Academy opened its doors to learners from Grade 1 through Grade 12.  The vision of the school is to provide each learner with a firm grounding in God’s Word, while providing an all-round education.

Most importantly, it is to teach each learner about their uniqueness in the eyes of God.  ECA preschool co-ordinator Mrs Yvonne Tiley thanked the staff for their hard work throughout the year, after which Pastor Jon Kühn closed the proceedings with prayer for the children.

A touching scene followed as, on Mrs Tiley’s request, parents of the 22 graduates were invited on stage to say a prayer of release and blessing over their children as they prepared to move on to “big school”!
