Fresh designs and flora await at Kraaines Garden Centre

For the past 27 years, Kraaines Garden Centre has been a one-stop shop for garden lovers.

One is greeted by the distinctive smell of leather when walking into Kraaines Interiors in Glencoe.

Boasting 24 large showrooms ranging in decor theme from modern to classic, each setting has been uniquely designed to highlight the wide range of world-class items within.

The garden centre at Kraaines has a variety of plants, shrubs, seedlings and trees. For the past 27 years, Kraaines Garden Centre has been a one-stop shop for garden lovers and green fingered individuals from Glencoe and certainly from surrounding areas too.

Kraaines owner, Cherice Torlage is passionate about interior decor and gardening.

“When I took over the garden centre, it was almost non-existent. There was a huge auction back in December 2017 and because of that, many people thought the garden centre had closed. However, it is still operational and we have been revamping it for the past three months – and we are not done yet.”

The new garden centre is beaming with beautiful roses, ranging in bloom from the Nelson Mandela Rose to the bright yellow Durban July rose, accompanied by exotic flowers such as the Petunia Black Ray and the Chrysanthemum which only grows in the Western Cape. Kraaines also boasts the beloved national flower, the king protea.

“When a client comes in looking for plants, we take the initiative of explaining to them how to take care of the plant. Just like humans, plants also need food, water, space and sunlight.”

Cherice and her staff are all about helping every client who walks in the doors of Kraaines, by helping them choose unique interior decor and plants while staying within their budget.

“Some of our clients come in with photos of furniture they would like to buy and if we don’t have it in stock, we try our ultimate best to outsource from our trusted supplier. At Kraaines, we take your opinions into consideration and incorporate your ideas, taste and preferences into our design schemes. Our work is innovative, progressive, unique and current,” added Cherice.

She further thanked her staff and clients: “Thank you for the support throughout the years. We look forward to doing more business with you.”

In conclusion, Cherice invited all to visit the centre and see what caught their eye.
