Crime briefs: Dundee burglaries on the rise

The high rate of burglaries in Dundee is on a high once again. Captain V Mbense, the Communications Officer at Dundee SAPS advised residents to not buy stolen goods and report to the police if anyone sells them stolen goods.

Colley Street: The complainant locked up his home and went to town, when he came back he noticed that his garage door was tampered with and the back door opened. The suspect stole a DVD player, a Flat Screen Tv, jewelry and a cellphone. The total amount of items stolen is estimated to R7 000.

Cuthbert Street: The complainant left his home for the weekend, when he came back he noticed that his back door was tampered with. Electrical appliances and groceries were stolen.

Pep Store Victoria Street: Pep Store has been targeted four times in the past month with suspects gaining entrance through the roofing. Another incident of burglary was reported yesterday when the staff noticed that shoes were missing at the value of R7 800.
