Inkosi Langalibelele Local Municipality Communications Unit
Once again, a dark cloud has fallen over Inkosi Langalibelele Local Municipality. This follows the sudden passing of Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality staff member Mr Mthandeni Madela, from the Electricity Department.

His untimely death has shocked all of us as Inkosi Langalibalele management, council and staff, and even residents who knew him and appreciated his services.
The deceased was electrocuted while trying to sort out a problem at the Wembezi sub-station on November 14. After a long disturbance in the municipality that left a number of citizens without electricity, he was one of those who first responded to the call of duty in order assist our community.
His commitment to his work is an uncontested legacy that he leaves with his colleagues and those who will come after him. This was seen by his dedication to his work, as he was called Heavenwards while performing his duties.
He was filled with a great sense of humour and he lived life to the fullest. Now he is gone, and may all the beautiful memories be a blessing to his family and his children. Unfortunately, these individuals have no replacement!
Inkosi Langalibalele Municipality would like to express its sincere sympathy to the family during this difficult time.Mr Madela was a highly esteemed person who also respected his colleagues at Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality.
His polite approach to things was remarkable. He made huge contributions towards the residents of this local municipality and helped it move forward in numerous ways.
The municipality is still investigating the circumstances surrounding his untimely death, and once technical and investigative reports are available, they will be made available to the public.
It is our prayer that Almighty God will give his family, colleagues, friends and those who knew him the strength to go through this difficult time.
His memory will always be in our hearts. Deepest sadness and condolences to the Madela family. The municipal manager and the mayor say “May his soul rest in peace!”
