Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality apologises for week-long strike

Last week kicked off with rubbish strewn all over town and burning tyres left to smoulder at the entrances of various municipal buildings.

It was confirmed that the protest action was politically related.  Due to this, no municipal services were carried out, causing inconvenience for many ratepayers.

In a media release issued to the Estcourt News, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality unreservedly apologised to the community for the disruption of daily functioning of the institution, which adversely affected the provision of services.

It was further said that a memorandum to deal with the political matters related to the protest was handed over to the Department of Co-operative Governance & Traditional Affairs (COGTA).

The municipality announced that municipal offices were operating as normal again as of Monday.
