Palliative care in the spotlight

An informative workshop on palliative care was held at Shepstone Place Home for the Aged

A very well attended Palliative Care Day was held at Shepstone Place Home for the Aged last Thursday.

Topics discussed included the various stages of wounds and wound care, bladder weakness, palliative care and the Caregiver Bill of Rights.

Locals meet and greet the healthcare professionals.

Local caregiver and volunteer Shireen Kudhabuckus said, “I have learned a lot and all the information passed on was very interesting. It was lovely to meet different people who all share the aim of bettering palliative care.”

The event ended with refreshments while the attendees showed interest in the latest healthcare equipment and products that were demonstrated during earlier presentations.
