WATCH: Municipal staff up in arms

The local municipal buildings were under siege earlier today

In the wake of the unfortunate death of Inkosi Langalibable Local Municipality electrician Mthembeni Mthandeni Mandela yesterday, municipal staff are demanding answers.

In the hope of this, some staff marched angrily into the municipal buildings in search of the Municipal Manager Patrick Mkhize.

From his locked office, they made their way into the council chambers, which was empty. With bodyguards and police, Mr Mkhize appeared but quickly made his way into his office.

A crowd forced their way into the office banging on the door for Mr Mkhize to address their concerns. He eventually was escorted to his vehicle in which he drove off leaving the scores of staff unattended.
