Newcastle’s latest brewery company has locals in a festive mood, with the recent release of the first of its kind in local beer – Newcastle Lager.
Local entrepreneur, Vuyo Valashiya (28), has set out on a journey of brewing beer. To celebrate his innovation, the Newcastle Advertiser and the Newcastle Brewing Company (NBC) are giving away a six-pack of beer each, to two lucky readers in this exclusive competition.
Valashiya said he would like the NBC brand to capture five per cent of the alcoholic beverage industry in KZN.
“I wanted Newcastle to have its own beer. Most towns and cities across South Africa have brands which represent and honour their towns and cities in which the beer is brewed.”
Valashiya encouraged the youth to look for gaps in the community and take advantage of opportunities available to them in order to succeed in business.
