Ushembe: unyazi lwezulu – November 2019
Residents of Vryheid and surrounds are invited to visit Ushembe inkosi yamaNazaretha at Emondlo. Believers and non-believers are both welcome. No entrance fee will be charged.
SANBS Blood Drive – November 8
The South African National Blood Service appeals to residents to donate blood, between 11am and 6pm at the ‘Klipkerk’. All donors will receive a token of appreciation but more importantly, become a hero who saves a life.
Wings School – November 9
A Fish Braai will be hosted at the Augsburg Church Hall, Commondale from 9am. The fundraising event is in support of the Wings School in Paulpietersburg. Entry fees are R150 per adult, R50 per child and children under six enter for free. For more information, contact Renate (082 313 4357) or Erlo (082 944 0721).
Remembrance Day Parade – November 10
The public is invited to attend the annual Remembrance Day Parade, which begins at 11am from the St Peter’s Anglican Church. The parade is in memory of the fallen who lost their lives defending our freedom and country – “we will remember them.”
Abaqulusi Community Radio AGM – November 10
Residents are invited to the meeting, from 2pm at Besterspruit School (between Amakhwathi and Vryheid Comprehensive School). For more information, call 082 864 4929.
Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch AGM – November 12
The meeting takes place on November 12 at the NG Moedergemeente Klipkerk Hall, at 6pm for 6.30pm.
Kerssangdiens – November 24
Beste Christen vriende, dis amper Kersfees! Lidmate van die drie NG gemeentes van Vryheid, die Lutherse gemeente én die Geref Kerk sing saam! Die Kerssangdiens is hierdie jaar by NG Vryheid Moederkerk om 6nm en organiseerders hoop dis ‘n besondere geleentheid. Kom ons sing ‘n Kersfees lied saam. Kontakpersoon – Ds Hennie: 084 744 0050.
Country Christmas Market – November 30
Venue: Ilanga House, Commondale (on a farm between Piet Retief and Paulpietersburg). Time: 9am to 3pm. Look forward to local, handmade products. For stall bookings, contact Sonja on 078 804 2130 or e-mail sonja@ilangatrading.co.za.
Paddadam Early Christmas Market – December 7
The market runs from 9am to 2pm, with carols by candlelight in the evening. Entrance is free, but residents are encouraged to bring a donation of groceries for the needy.
