SAPS reveals Dundee’s latest break-in hotspots

"They watch victims very closely, to determine what time they leave in the morning and what time they get back home..."

Burglaries are said to be on the rise in Dundee, with more and more homes being broken into.

Sergeant Nkosi of Dundee SAPS has advised the community to be more vigilant of criminals, amid rumours of a syndicate operating in the area.

“They watch targeted victims very closely, to determine what time they leave in the morning and what time they get back home. They then come into your home when you are not there and break in.”

Sergeant Nkosi said SAPS had received numerous complaints from homeowners in many areas, which were now considered crime hotspots: Wilson Street in the Berea area, Cuthbert Street, McKenzie Street, Colley Street and Tatham Street.

“Make sure you look out for people loitering the streets, and contact your neighbourhood watch if you suspect something”, concluded Sergeant Nkosi.
