Father and son rescued from capsized boat
First responders included paramedics and members of SAPS' K9 Search and Rescue Unit.
A father and son have been rescued, after a fishing excursion this morning turned into disaster at the Chelmsford (Ntshingwayo Dam).
Sergeant Holloway from SAPS K9 (Search and Rescue) Unit was among the officials dispatched to the scene.
“Two people were in the boat: a 55-year-old man and his 13-year-old son. Due to the windy weather, the man struggled to steer the boat and it capsized. We quickly responded and both people were saved.”
Paramedics were also on hand to treat the occupants of the boat.
