DJ Mpiloz on an eventful visit in Qatar

Local DJ Mpiloz (Philani Manyoni) is having the time of his life in the Doha state of Qatar.

DJ Mpiloz – From Loskop to the world

This time around, he has been invited to be the guest DJ at a Heritage Day Ubuntu Bash, which is hosted by the embassy of the Republic of South Africa Doha state of Qatar.

South African ambassador Faizel Moosa and Margaret Perakis personally extended the invite. Prior to this invite, he was also asked by Umbani Radio, based in Danbury, to perform at another Heritage Day event in the United States of America.

DJ Mpiloz has been busy spreading the spirit of Ubuntu in neighbouring countries through his gigs. Interestingly, it was not only sightseeing and gigs, but the DJ also got to model for the Unknown Union clothing label in Qatar.

“The Qataris are such lovely people, very generous and homely. Here, the workweek is from Sunday to Thursday, while Friday and Saturday is the weekend,” he explained about the culture.

DJ Mpiloz left South Africa at the beginning of September and is set to return at the end of November.  The music video of his song ‘uNomathemba’, featuring Demor and Dust, debuted on Channel V TV India and MTV Base.

The local DJ beamed with excitement as he shared with the Estcourt News that he also landed a singing deal with the Econoculture record label, owned by politician and former ambassador of South Africa in Germany and China, Mr Bheki Langa.

“Mr Langa just loved my hard work. He approached me to assist in making my dream come true,” he said, after which he expressed heartfelt thanks to all his fans back home.
