Bronze finish for DHS league cricketers

DHS eventually made a breakthrough and momentum started shifting the way of the DHS boys, as wickets began to fall regularly.

Last Thursday (October 17), DHS’ first team team cricket boys took on Sarel Cilliers High School for third place in the NKZN Schools Cricket League.

DHS batted first in hot conditions and after 20 overs, set a score of 157. Kemeshen Govender starred with the bat, scoring a rapid 68 runs off only 28 balls.

Sarel Cilliers was very quick to start its chase, scoring 55 runs in the first six overs. DHS eventually made a breakthrough and momentum started shifting the way of the DHS boys, as wickets began to fall regularly.

Sarel managed 117 in its chase, and after a brilliant fielding and bowling performance by the DHS team, DHS managed to secure third place in the league.

DHS thanked Sarel Cilliers for an excellent game of cricket and for the sportsmanship it showed on the field.
