Possible load-shedding for Ladysmith

Residents are encouraged to use electricity sparingly

Ladysmith could be load-shed today (October 17).

Stage 2 load-shedding might come into effect any time from 9am to 11pm.

It is believed that Eskom is resorting to load-shedding around the country to protect the power system from total collapse. According to Eskom, the electricity system is becoming constrained due to loss of additional generation, delays in the return to service of units that are on planned maintenance, and limited diesel supply.

Residents are encouraged to help Eskom by utilising electricity sparingly by switching off geysers, non-essential lighting and electrical appliances to reduce the demand.
