Dilapidated building and vacant land a hangout spot for criminals and prostitutes?

The land has also become a site for illegal dumping and stinks of urine as it is being used as a toilet

Councillor L Bhoobun has her hands full with numerous problems experienced by residents and business owners in the Leonardsville area.

Speaking to Cllr Bhoobun, she says there’s vacant land with a dilapidated building in Kandahar Avenue that has become a concern for those living in the vicinity. Not only is it an eyesore, but the building has allegedly become a hangout spot for criminals and prostitutes.

She says that people have been robbed in the area and a few months ago, a person was killed on the very same land.

The councillor has made numerous attempts to get the land cleaned out, but in vain so far.

Cllr Bhoobun further explains that, to add insult to injury, the land has also become a site for illegal dumping and the entire area stinks of urine as it is being used as a toilet.

She hopes something is done soon to remedy the situation.
