Senior citizens get sporty

Light exercises and breathing exercises made fun for the elderly folk

Exercise, diet and health took centre stage when the Estcourt Senior Citizens Club met for their weekly meeting.

Under the guidance of Public Relations Officer Ramika Peerbhay, the elderly folk were shown light exercises and breathing exercises, which they participated in with zest.

Members take a shot at shooting hoops.

Members also observed World Health Hypertension Day and Parkinson’s Day.

“During these commemorations, members explained the experiences that affect their dignity, and requested support,” said Mrs Peerbhay.

The correct diet was also highlighted and emphasis was placed on the importance of eating breakfast every day.  Club members send their gratitude to Rookaya Bhayla, as well as Raj and Renisha Bhikraj, for sponsoring lunch.
