Update: The N3 is now open after Eskom officials finished the job earlier than expected.
The N3 was closed between Cedara and Hilton, KZN since this morning, and was opened once work was completed.
Eskom were installing a high-voltage overhead electrical cable near Hilton. The road was expected to remain closed for plus-minus four hours until work is complete.
Light motor vehicles were being diverted via Hilton and heavy motor vehicles were stacked at the traffic closure points.
Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) is managed the closure with support from law enforcement, emergency services and N3TC’s road incident management teams.
