Fantastic flowers lure visitors to Shepstone Place

Flowers, family, friends, and fun was the order of the day at the 2019 Garden and Flower show

It was a sensory adventure when visiting Shepstone Place Home for the Aged on Saturday. Residents and staff opened up their doors and invited the public to explore the home and garden as part of the annual Flower & Garden Show.

Locals walked through the passages, up and down the stairs, strolled through the garden and relaxed in the lounges as they took in the dozens of colourful flower arrangements.

About 50 arrangements were made by residents and staff, as well as individuals and service clubs. Each flower arrangement has its own tale to tell, with most being in memory of loved ones who have died, past residents of the Home or a tribute to family.

The 2019 Garden & Flower Show has been hailed a “huge success” by Shepstone Place organisers, who said that they received many compliments from visitors who admired not just the Home but the gardens and flower arrangements.

Unfortunately, the Milady’s Fashion Show was not included this year and according to Shepstone Place organisers, it was sadly missed by all residents and visitors.
