Owners urged to safeguard their pets at Rabies Vaccination Day

"There is no excuse as a responsible pet owner, for not having your pets vaccinated against the rabies virus."

Residents are urged to bring their pets in for a free rabies vaccination this Saturday (October 12), at the Vryheid State Veterinarian office at the corner of Heeren and Van Riebeeck Streets.
The Rabies Vaccination Day runs from 8am until 2pm and the community is advised no animals will be vaccinated at home.
Dogs and cats older than three months must be vaccinated against the deadly rabies virus at least once a year, and the State Veterinarian said there was no exception to this rule.
