Ichthus Christian School had a very exciting and blessed SACSSA athletics meeting on September 21 and 22 in Sasolburg.
The school thanks God for the way in which He has provided for them on the athletics field this year. Congratulations to all athletes, who participated and performed so well.
- Under-7: Izibusiso Phakathi – first in cricket ball throw with a new record distance of 23,69 metres.
- U-9: Chris Mumpi – second in 600m; Khwezi Kheswa – second in turbo javelin; Izibongo Phakathi – third in turbo javelin; Anébelle Myburgh – seventh in 80m.
- U-11: Cailan de Lange – sixth in turbo javelin and seventh in shot-put; Raphael Mazibuko – ninth in high jump.
- U-12: Faith Mazibuko – second in discus and third in shot-put.
Ichthus congratulated Chris Mumpi, Khwezi Kheswa and Izibongo Phakathi, who qualified for the Sub Youth Inter-Provincial Athletics Team and therefore obtained their SACSSA colours for athletics. It also congratulated Isibusiso Phakathi on her new record in cricket ball throw, and Faith Mazibuko, who was among the best 100 individual performers in shot-put with a total of 804 ASA points.
Ichthus is very proud of its athletes, and thanks all the coaches who assisted the athletes during the season. All the honour and glory to God.
