Crash survivor’s story is one of hope and love

After the long journey of publishing his book, the legacy he hopes to leave behind is the spirit of camaraderie and unity in humanity, with the focus on Mother Nature.

For almost a decade, author Shane Manilal has been struggling to publish his autobiography Crash Landing – Born again For?

Through determination and commitment, Manilal has now successfully published the rework of his book, thanks to a publishing company in India.

The book is a 490 page trilogy of his life, which focuses on his childhood, tertiary education and career as a teacher.

Manilal said he typed the book with just one finger, after a horrific motorcycle collision in 2004 left the right side of his body paralysed.

“I’ve been in 13 bike crashes. In the last accident, I flat-lined and had to be resuscitated. I was in a coma for six weeks and had to undergo brain surgery,” he said.

This did not keep Manilal down; he was rehabilitated and now is a living testament of strength and resilience.

Wearing many hats, Manilal is also known as the ‘one blood biker’ and refers to himself as an etherealist, agnostic, spiritual person who believes in love and light, holistic healing and the wellness of the earth.

His honesty, concern and passion for life and humanity are evident in his writing.

Manilal’s work and lifestyle helped him feature on a television talk show, as well as in various media and magazines.

After the long journey of publishing his book, the legacy he hopes to leave behind is the spirit of camaraderie and unity in humanity, with the focus on Mother Nature.

“A major portion of my own proceeds from book will be donated to charity,” he explained.

Manilal has also received positive referrals from the former Mayor of Newcastle, schools and learners, a life coach, a Louise Hay ‘Heal your Life’ workshop coordinator, a spiritual counsellor and a parapsychologist, as well as from international reviews.

The foreword of Manilal’s book was written by the renowned doctor Brian Wilson.

Manilal himself is a post graduate, with three degrees and five diplomas in the fields of media, advertising, life coaching, counselling and angel card reading.

“Make a difference while you are living. We live and then we die – what we do in between is what matters. Everyone has a purpose,” he concluded.
