Nquthu residents call for an end to corruption

Nquthu Mayor, Mabilabila Kunene received the memorandum on Friday and signed it.

Nquthu residents marched to the municipal buildings on Friday, demanding an end to nepotism and corruption.

Many expressed concern at the state of the Ngolokodo Library and claimed positions were not filled in a ‘transparent manner’, amid rumours that members of a Councillors family were employed at the library facility.

Ward 17 Councillor, Sibusiso Zikode had earlier laid charges of malicious damage to property against Nquthu Municipality at Mondlo Police Station, for ‘breaking into the library with their unknown employees’.

He further claimed the municipality had not consulted with local residents, regarding the opening of the facility or the employing of staff.
