Livestock recovered by Stock Theft Units in KZN

Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit detectives recovered 18 cattle and 1 goat, and made 1 arrest

KwaZulu-Natal Stock Theft Units have been successful in recovering stolen livestock and returning them to their rightful owners.

30 stolen animals were recovered during intelligence-driven operations conducted by police officers at the Ladysmith and Utrecht Stock Theft Units during the month of August.

Ladysmith Stock Theft Unit detectives recovered 11 cattle which were reported stolen to police at Van Reenen.

The operation then led police officers to a farm in the area, where they recovered seven cattle and one goat.

A 49-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of the stolen goat.

Utrecht Stock Theft Unit officers recovered nine cattle and two goats at a farm in the area. The recovered stock was handed over to the lawful owner.
