Brothers release new single and put Ladysmith on the map

The duo’s debut single, ‘Let Me In’, had its radio debut on 5FM and gathered in excess of 20,000 streams across platforms

RAMDAZ is a South African indie pop band formed in late 2016, consisting of brothers Vikshay and Vishekh Ramdaas from Ladysmith.

Their poptinged electronic prowess simultaneously explores different sounds of the past and the future.

In February 2017, they penned their first record deal with South Africa’s leading independent record label, Just Music South Africa (the RSA home to artists such as Adele, Matthew Mole, Bon Iver, Desmond and the Tutus, etc).

The duo’s debut single, ‘Let Me In’, had its radio debut on 5FM and gathered in excess of 20,000 streams across platforms. The brother pair released their second single, ‘Lost’, in early December 2017, with them pushing even deeper and experimenting in the pop / dance / electronic arena. ‘Lost’ got its first major radio play on East Coast Radio (ECR), where the duo have started making a name for themselves, having been given the opportunity to do the official remix of the ECR Breakfast Show’s parody song ‘Going To Nkandla’.

Earlier this year, RAMDAZ also played a part in singer / songwriter Bianca Blanc’s Deezer Next Session EP, doing a tropical house spin on her song ‘Good Vibes’. After a year and a half ‘break’ from the music industry, RAMDAZ have released their anticipated return single, ‘Come With Me’, which is said to be their best work to date.

The track is set for repeat listening with co-producer Matthew Fink (Matthew Mole, Shadowclub, Nakhane Toure, Sannie Fox), adding his distinctive touch to this funk-edged banger. “Everybody goes through something unique; we all have our own stories and experiences. As much as this song is about trust, love and sticking with someone through the worst, it’s more about us sharing a piece of ourselves with everyone who listens; to have them take our music and use it to not only express how they feel, but also emotionally make it their own.”

With the duo making such an impact in such a short space of time and with more music on the horizon, you can expect more great music and big things to come from RAMDAZ in the near future.
