Man arrested with crystal meth in Ladysmith

The drugs have an estimated street value of R5000

A 38-year old man was busted with 33 packets of crystal meth (amphetamines) in Ladysmith recently.

This after Ladysmith K9 Unit officers held a ‘stop and search’ operation in a residential area of Ladysmith during the course of last week.

The officers stopped a vehicle and upon searching it, they discovered that the driver was in possession of illegal drugs in the form of crystal meth.

The suspect has since appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court, facing a charge of being in possession of drugs. He has been remanded into police custody and is due back in court soon.

The drugs have an estimated street value of R5000. They have been sent to the Forensic Laboratory for analysis.
