Art to be on show in Nquthu

'Northern KwaZulu-Natal artists' greatest challenge was getting their art 'out there'.

Nquthu artists, who have rare chances to showcase their talent, will receive a platform at the first official Nquthu Art Market and Exhibition on September 7.
Hosted by nonprofit organisation, United Arts Africa, the expo will give artists an opportunity to display their creativity.
Bongane Hopewell Motaung, Chairperson of United Arts Africa, said Northern KwaZulu-Natal artists’ greatest challenge was getting their art ‘out there’.
“Not only will the expo introduce them to the public, but it will be a chance to meet other artists and share to experiences and exchange ideas. This important gathering aims to expose artists to the outside world. The expo will include all genres; music, dance, drama, filming, fashion, handcrafts and more,” said Mr Motaung.

Local films and paintings will be showcased at the nearby home of the late traditional healer, Sosobala Mbatha.
The public can also tour the home to view the life of the late legend

“We invite all artists to participate in building this legacy together, because we believe unity is the only way to success. There is magic in unity; it’s just a beginning and the continuity of this programme lies in the participation of artists.”
Mr Motaung said there were no restrictions to enter.
The event will be hosted at the open field opposite the Nquthu Plaza, where the public will enjoy live on-stage entertainment including artists and bands, fashion shows and different traditional and modern performers.
