IFP makes a call for swift justice in Mthembeni Majola’s murder

“He was a hard worker who loved the people he served and was loyal to the IFP; his political home. May Comrade Mthembeni now rest in peace”

A call for swift justice and tireless efforts in the murder investigation has been reiterated by the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) following the killing of Mthembeni Majola.

The IFP stated that Mr Majola was killed when two unknown vehicles overtook his vehicle and opened fire at a set of speed humps at about 8.30pm on Friday (August 16).

Sustaining multiple and critical injuries, Mr Majola was declared dead on scene.
He was driving with two occupants who have been recovering in hospital from injuries.

IFP National Spokesperson and Member of Parliament Mkhuleko Hlengwa said that the party was “very concerned at the relentless killings of councillors, in particular, in KwaZulu-Natal.

“We condemn these killings in the strongest possible terms and yet again call for calm and peace. The IFP trusts that the law enforcement agencies will work tirelessly to investigate this matter and bring these evil forces of darkness to book. The party calls on all those who may information to come forward and assist the police in their investigation,” added Mr Hlengwa.

He said Mr Majola served the IFP with distinction and commitment.
