Teen ready to electrify all comers with his Shocker GTi
Shaylyn's passion for cars stems from his family's backgrounds, with both his father and uncle owing vehicles which have been modified for speed and looks at local car shows
With one of the neatest Volkswagen Golf 5s around, Shaylyn Sookan continues to stock his trophy cabinet.
The 15-year-old is a show and shine prodigy, using his GTi ‘The Shocker’ to claim titles and accolades at car shows across the Northern KwaZulu-Natal area.
His opposition has been truly electrified by his mean machine.
Shaylyn’s passion for cars stems from his family’s backgrounds, with both his father and uncle owing vehicles which have been modified for speed and looks at local car shows.
The teen and his father had a dream to build up their Golf.
This dream has since become a reality for them, as they have modified their car both on the inside and out, to include a custom red and black interior and custom sound, courtesy of Mason’s Service Centre, incorporating two 12-inch subwoofers which make the ground shake, a 32″ television screen and a PlayStation 3.

The car also has engine modifications, under-glow lighting, interior lighting and wicked rims.
So far, Shaylyn has entered his car into three car show and shine events in the area and has already won many trophies, claiming first place in two of these events.
His biggest event thus far was the ‘Show Off Your Ride’ event in Newcastle just two weeks ago.
Shaylyn and his father said they were pulling ‘The Shocker’ off the road and into the pits for a few weeks, so they could complete further extreme modifications on the vehicle.
They ominously called on car enthusiasts to ‘watch this space’.
