IFP KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Chairperson, Thami Ntuli was accompanied by the National Executive Committee (NEC), Mayor of the Umzinyathi District Municipality Mayor Mr Ngubane, IFP National Chairperson of the Youth Brigade, Mr Nxumalo along with other members to the Majola’s Rensburgdrift residence.
Mr Ntuli described the atmosphere as ‘very sad.’
“The family were crying from the time we arrived until after our departure. We send our condolences to the family. Mr Majola was a brave councillor, local servant of the people, corruption fighter and loyal to the IFP. ”
Mr Ntuli urged police be tenacious and efficient in the investigation of his colleague’s murder.
“Mr Majola is not the first of our members to be assassinated in this way. As the IFP in KZN, we call on the police to prioritise this case and work tirelessly as well as deploy a high-level team to look into this killing.”
The party tweeted that they are consulting with the police and with eye-witnesses.
The Party is in consultation with the SAPS, witnesses and the bereaved family to establish the facts and circumstances of this killing.
We request that the family be given the space and time to process this tragedy.
