Hikers went up the steep mountain on a chilly Saturday morning. Hikeobics founder, Tsebiso Maruping said hiking is good for the body’s mobility.
“There are many benefits to hiking besides just sight-seeing. You can learn about endurance because some hiking trails are quite tough and you need to be mentally strong for it. It also improves bone density because walking is a weight-bearing exercise. It can lower your stress levels, improve one’s mood and enhances your mental well-being. Hiking also means you can get to build strength in your hamstrings, hips and lower legs.”
Hikeobics happens once a month, with the next one on August 24.
