Matrimonial bliss at wedding expo

Around 20 exhibitors showcased their services, from hat making, event coordination, flower creations and draping, to a live fashion show which had lovebirds swooning.

The first ever Newcastle Wedding Expo had blushing brides starry-eyed.

More than 260 visitors flocked to the venue at The Pines Wedding & Conference Village, with couples walking hand-in-hand in anticipation of their big day.

Around 20 exhibitors showcased their services, from hat making, event coordination, flower creations and draping, to a live fashion show which had lovebirds swooning.

Organisers from the Champ Group of Companies, said they was proud of the management team, who worked hard to ensure the success of the event.

The highlight of the show was the R100 000 wedding giveaway. Each attendee had the opportunity to enter the competition at the start of the expo.

Tasneem Dawood was the winner of the lucky prize, which included the following:

The Pines Wedding & Conference Village – R50 000 voucher which includes payments for venue hire and food, for up to 100 guests.
Tramonto Boutique Hotel – honeymoon suite for one night, valued at R2 200
Steve’s Photographic – R5 000
Sound Excellence – R4 000
Flower Creations/Dream Occasions – R4 000
Danielle Draping – Decor and draping for up to 100 people
Southey Attorneys – nuptial contract worth R3 500
Waseelah’s Cake and Bake – R2 000
San Lameer Resort Hotel & Spa – a weekend away for two people including accommodation, breakfast, dinner and a round of golf, valued at R10 000.

The team is currently organising the next expo, which is expected to take place nine months from now, at the same venue.

This will be known as The Newcastle Baby and Toddler Expo.

The Annual Wedding Expo will take place again on the last weekend of July 2020.
