Dundee SPCA elects a new committee

A new-look committee will lead the Dundee SPCA into the new financial year, despite the organisation facing an uncertain future,

The SPCA recently held its AGM at the Royal Country Inn, where the achievements and challenges facing the society over the past year were discussed.

Awards were also handed out to those who supported the society throughout the year. Patty Donaldson and Irene Lundin were both honoured with the Unsung Heroes Award, for their countless support and years of dedication towards the SPCA.

New committee:

Trisha Rajkumar was appointed as the new chairperson, Byron Pillay was elected the vice-chairperson and Sonishka Singh was appointed as secretary. The treasurer post will be filled by Adhishka Maharaj, following the resignation of Irene Lundin at a special meeting after the AGM.

Lihle Malinga, Yashveer Singh, Sonishka Singh and Cami Naidoo officially joined the committee. Angela Klusener, Charlene Gilmore and Junaid Ayob are still serving members.

Desiree du Toit and Analise Pretorius both retired from the committee after years of dedicated service, and were thanked for their selflessness by the new committee.
