Ichthus athletes shatter records at meeting

Ichthus looks forward to the Northern KZN Athletics meeting, which will be hosted on August 17 at Dundee High School.

On Saturday, Ichthus hosted its inter-house athletics meeting. This event was approached with great enthusiasm by learners, staff and friends, and the school congratulates all the participants, who performed so well.

The following athletes were awarded trophies and medals:

Best under-9 boy – Izibongo Phakathi
Best u-9 girl – Anébelle Myburgh
Junior Victrix Ludorum – Emmanuella Cibyayi
Junior Victor Ludorum – Raphael Mazibuko
Senior Victrix Ludorum – Faith Mazibuko
Senior Victor Ludorum – Panashe Chawanda
Best u-14 girl – Musawenkosi Ngcobo
Best individual achievement of the day – Emmanuella Cibyayi, for scoring 789 total points on the ASA table in shot put.

The following records were broken:

Girls long jump (u-11) – Emmanuella Cibyayi
Girls 80-metre sprint (u-11) – Emmanuella Cibyayi
Girls discus (u-12) – Lwandle Gwala
Girls shot put (u-12) – Faith Mazibuko
Girls javelin (u-14) – Musawenkosi Ngcobo.

Ichthus would like to thank Dundee High School for the use of its athletics facilities.
