Harpo kids ‘can’ make a difference for Mandela Day

Isabelle Meyer of Stepping Stones Academy explained the children were very excited to be a part of the event, and thanked the parents who donated.

Harpo Primary School and Stepping Stones Academy pupils did their bit for Mandela Day 2019, by collecting cans of food for Inkululeko Children’s Home.

Once the cans collected from the pupils at the school had been counted (almost 600 of them), they were laid out in the quadrangle in the shape of the number 67, signifying the Mandela Day campaign message: “Nelson Mandela fought for social justice for 67 years. We’re asking you to start with 67 minutes.”

Thereafter, the massive collection was handed over to Maria Timm from Inkululeko Children’s Home.
