Municipal Mandela Day efforts take the cake

AbaQulusi Municipality representatives were out in full force on Mandela Day to honour the memory of the late statesman, Nelson Mandela on his birthday.

AbaQulusi Municipality pulled out all the stops for its Mandela Day 2019 efforts.

Glenrose Khumalo, Zinhle Malunga and Zethu Ndaba from AbaQulusi Municipality’s Financial Department, en route to visit Vryheid Hospice.

The municipal team was out in full force to reach out to the community it serves, with each department visiting local charitable organisations, bearing gifts and donations for the elderly, the sick and the destitute.

This was the municipality’s way of honouring the legacy of late statesman, Nelson Mandela on his birthday.
The team from Corporate Services visited Ikusasa Labo Disabled Care Centre in Bhekuzulu, several of the staff from the Financial Department visited Vryheid Hospice, the Technical Services team visited Inkanyiso Special School and the Community Services Department reached out to Inkululeko Children’s Home, where all the departments eventually came together.

After Deputy Mayor, Mncedisi Maphisa addressed the substantial crowd of representatives of AbaQulusi Municipality and the staff of Inkululeko Children’s Home, the municipal group headed to Jubileum to continue the celebratory tone of the day.
