Motorists to avoid R68 due to protests
The POP Unit is on the scene, and has described the situation as 'volatile'.
Mass protest action has broken out on the R68 through Babanango. The route runs between Dundee and Melmoth.
According to reports, angry residents are burning tyres and looting trucks in the area, and the Public Order Policing (POP) Unit has been dispatched to the scene.Officials have described the situation as ‘volatile’.
It is uncertain when the protest action will be quelled. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes, until the situation clears.
