Sarel Cilliers just loves rugby

Van der Westhuizen said the NKZN High School Rugby Sub Union had thanked Sarel Cilliers' Principal, Kevin van Staden for assisting with transport.

Sarel Cilliers High’s rugby lads had a busy July holiday, with more than 30 players competing at various provincial rugby tournaments.

4 Sarel boys formed part of the Sharks Country Districts side, which competed in the Academy/Craven Week in Bloemfontein, while another group of under-19 players were included in the Northern KwaZulu-Natal team, which won the tournament at Reitz.

“Another group went with the NKZN u-18s to Vanderbijlpark, and also won that tournament. What made this win more impressive was that it was an u-19 tournament,” said Dave van der Westhuizen, Sarel’s sports master. “We also had boys that went with the two NKZN u-16 to Vereeniging and Frankfort. All in all, a very busy rugby holiday.”

Mr van der Westhuizen said the NKZN High School Rugby Sub Union had thanked Sarel Cilliers’ Principal, Kevin van Staden for assisting with transport to two of these tournaments.

“Well done boys. We also want to wish our 7s rugby sides everything of the best with their tournaments this term,” he concluded.
