Work resumes at High Street Bridge

Myles Bowes, owner of T.K. Gutters and Plant Hire, the Vryheid based company responsible for the completion of the project, is enthusiastic at developments and hoped to have things wrapped up by the end of July.

The sound of earthmoving equipment can once again be heard, in the vicinity of the High Street Bridge.

“At long last, we’ve got it going again,” stated bridge committee chairperson, Harry Heyns, who along with the help of residents, has managed to get the most long-term aspects of the bridge underway.
“There shouldn’t be any rain in a hurry and the contractors are keen to get the project completed, so I don’t see any reason for delays.”

Residents have welcomed the resuming of work on High Street Bridge.

Myles Bowes, owner of T.K. Gutters and Plant Hire, the Vryheid based company responsible for the completion of the project, is enthusiastic at developments and hoped to have things wrapped up by the end of July.

“At last, we have things in place to ensure progress,” stated Bowes.

Residents hope this is the signal of positive news for the bridge project, and are hopeful traffic will be seen utilising the structure before long.

“Full steam, or in this case, diesel, ahead”
